The program consists of a tutoring and mentoring component.
Academic tutoring sessions are carefully designed to supplement in class learning through video conferencing that connects our mentors to even the most regional of students.
With the help of a high-achieving recent HSC graduate, we focus on developing students' exam techniques, improving study skills and encouraging individual thought.
Mentoring sessions are individually focused upon students' aspirations, goals and interests.
We develop a year-long timetable and goal-oriented plan that encourages perseverance and maps out to each student how best they can achieve their own objectives.
During each session mentors will spend a few minutes going over each student's weekly progress to ensure they stay on track.
Every mentoring and tutoring session is run by a recent high-achieving HSC graduate. All of our mentors have achieved a minimum ATAR of 99 to ensure that students get the best possible assistance. Our mentors are highly knowledgeable of the HSC curriculum and are extremely experienced when it comes to study advice and exam preparation. On top of this, they are able to share with students their experiences of undergraduate life at University, suggest how best to prepare for that, and offer assistance with University course choices and applications.
Mentors connect to students in rural and remote locations via video-conferencing technology and online content sharing platforms. By logging onto the system, students can see and hear their mentors using webcams and microphones. Sessions are held on a weekly basis to ensure that students stay on track to achieve their goals and regularly gain access to extra resources and assistance.
